Studies and F-Tag 315.
What is Proantinox? Proantinox™ is a proprietary blend of concentrated cranberry proanthocyanidins, ascorbic acid, D-Mannose, FOS and Bromelain . It helps inhibit adhesion of infection causing E-coli bacteria to urinary tract walls, reduce urinary ph levels to inhibit the growth of E. Coli, and stimulate the growth of probiotic bacteria in the small and large intestines.
How much cranberry is in UTI-Stat? One serving ( 1oz or 30ml) provides about the same amount of cranberry proanthocyanidins (PAC) as in one gallon of cranberry juice cocktail, but without the calories and acidity common to juice cocktails, as well as other important ingredients (FOS, D-Mannose, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and Bromelain).

How many calories/carbohydrates are in UTI-Stat? UTI-Stat has 1 calorie and 1/4 g of carbohydrate per serving.

How does UTI-Stat compare to cranberry capsules/tablets? Cranberry tablets/capsules do not typically include FOS, D-Mannose, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), and Bromelain, each of which contribute to the efficacy of UTI-Stat. Cranberry tablets/capsules are typically recommended up to 6 tablets daily. Is UTI-Stat cost effective? It is estimated that UTIs from all settings may cost the US economy $1.6 billion annually. The use of antibiotics plus the indirect costs of nursing care, doctor visits, or additional treatment all contribute to the cost. Additionally, frequent use of antibiotics can contribute to the increase in more resistant strains of bacteria. Mantaining urinary tract health and reducing the incidence of UTIs can lead to substantial health care cost reductions.
How big was the UTI-Stat study? The study was conducted in ten nursing homes in five states. 88 residents completed the 90 day study.
The study participants received 2 servings of UTI-Stat per day. Why are you recommending one dose per day? Two servings daily are appropriate when symptoms are present. Otherwise, one serving daily is recommended as a preventative.

What does F-Tag 315 deal with? 1. Guidelines for assessment, diagnosis and treatment of both UI and UTIs. 2. Includes policies and procedures for use of urinary catheters. 3. Requires that a resident who does not enter into a facility without a catheter not be catheterized unless clinically necessary. 4. The facility is responsible for the assessment of the resident at risk for urinary catheterization and/or the ongoing assessment for the resident who currently has a catheter. 5. Implementation of appropriate individualized interventions and monitoring for the effectiveness of the interventions is required. 6. The facility’s documented assessment and staff approach to the resident should be based on evidence to support the use of an indwelling catheter. 7.
